Leadership Mini-Grant Guidelines The Huck Boyd Foundation continues to make available a limited number of mini-grants to leadership programs in Kansas counties at $200 apiece. The mini-grants will go for the development and implementation of new, county-level, educational adult leadership programs or certain types of support of other leadership initiatives. Programs developed through the mini-grants should be educational in nature. Preference will be given to counties in which the county Extension service has a lead role, or is at least actively involved, in the development of the program organization and content. Program content is to be educational, including sessions on skill building such as communication, conflict resolution, issue analysis and group dynamics. The application process is simple. To apply, the county or county extension office should send a letter of intent including the following: 1) the county’s plans to implement a leadership development program, 2) whether or not the county extension service is involved with the program, 3) the timeline for implementation of the program in the county, and 4) the commitment of the county to continue such a program in the future. K-State Research & Extension and the Huck Boyd Institute will provide technical assistance free of charge in the design of such county programs. We will be glad to assist counties, whether or not they receive mini-grants. Those receiving mini-grants should be assured that we are prepared to assist in making these programs successful. Previous mini-grant recipients are:
We would be glad to consult with potential applicants prior to the submission of applications for mini-grants. Letters of application and any questions should be directed to: Ron Wilson
