| Dr. John Ball - Dr. Ball is a professor of forestry at South
Dakota State University.
Dr. Charlie Barden - Charlie is our Extension Forester in the Department. Jana Beckman - Jana is the coordinator of the Kansas Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Alternative Crops. She is housed with us in Horticulture, Forestry and Recreational Resources. Larry Caldwell - Larry is a Reno County Master Gardener and is proficient in growing hydroponic gardening. Dr. Ted Carey - Ted is our Extension Specialist in food crops. He is housed in our Eastern Kansas Horticulture/Forestry Center at Olathe and works extensively with vegetables. Dr. Raymond Cloyd - Ray is our new horticultural entomologist. He comes to us from the University of Illinois at Urbana with a wealth of experience. Becky Cunningham - Becky is a Southeast Kansas Master Gardener with a love of butterflies. Dr. Greg Davis - Greg is an Associate Professor at K-State and teaches all of our landscape courses in the department. Dr. Jason Griffin - Jason is our Ornamental and Woody Plants Researcher at the John C. Pair Horticultural Center near Wichita. Dr. Megan Kennelly - Megan is our new horticultural plant pathologist at K-State. She specializes in turfgrass diseases. Dr. Houchang Khatamian - Houchang is an Associate Professor at K-State and teaches our Plant Propagation courses. Dr. Jack Landgrebe - Jack is an Emeritus Professor at KU in Organic Chemistry. Jan Longhofer - Jan is a Sedgwick County Master Gardener and loves perennial flowers. Tim McDonnell - Tim is a District Community Forester with the Kansas Forest Service. He has experience as a nurseryman and has long had an avid interest in trees. Dr. Caleb Morse - Caleb is the collection manager at the Kansas University Natural History Museum in Lawrence. Rob Mortko - Rob Mortko, maintains a large shade garden at his Olathe home, it contains over 300 species of shade plants and about 125 hosta varieties. Rob's "spare time" is now devoted to Made int he Shade Gardens - ahome-based retail business specializing in hostas. Rob has registered and introduced a number of new hosta cultivars including 'Heart and Soul', 'Soul Brother' and 'Stitch in Time'. Bob Neier - Bob is our Horticulture Agent in Sedgwick County. Evelyn Neier - Evelyn is our Junior Master Gardener Coordinator. Elsie Neumann - Elsie works with the butterfly house at Botanica in Wichita. Dr. Emily Nolting - Emily is our Regional Specialist and works with nurseries and garden centers. Patty Ogle - Patty is the stormwater quality technician for the city of Lawrence, Kansas. Judy O’Mara - Judy runs our Plant Disease Diagnostic lab in Plant Pathology. Cameron Rees - Cam is the nursery manager at Skinner's Nursery in Topeka and long been an advocate for the sue of viburnums in Kansas Landscapes. Alan Roberts-Mitchell - Alan is a Reno County Master Gardener with an interest in hydroponic gardening. Glenn Salsbury - Glenn is an entomologist for the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Charlene Schneider - Charlene is a Sedgwick County Master Gardener with an interest in plant propagation. Dr. Rodney St. John - Rod is our new Turfgrass Extension Specialist and is house at our Olathe Extension and Research Center. Dr. Alan Stevens - Alan is our Extension Specialist in Floriculture and Ornamental Horticulture Specialist. He heads up our annual flower trials each year. Jeff Vogel - Jeff is a State Weed Specialist with the Kansas Dept. of Agriculture. Kathleen Ward - Kathleen is a Communications Specialist with K-State. She writes numerous Extension articles that are picked up by newspapers across the state and surrounding area. Jacob Weber - Jacob is our Horticulture Agent in Southeast Kansas. He has responsibilities in Cherokee, Crawford, and Montgomery counties. |
